All you need are a few simple supplies to make this turkey craft for preschoolers:

• construction paper or craft foam in assorted colors – you can do this craft with construction paper or craft foam. We prefer to use craft foam as it stands up to any accidental spills.
• scissors
• staples (tape or glue would work too)
• googly eyes (we love these self adhesive google eyes)

With the paper held horizontally, cut 2-3″ wide strips. Use a staple to make the strip into rings. If you are using this as a cute cup craft make sure you make the rings big enough for the cup.

Stack up craft foam in red, orange, yellow, green, and purple. Cut tall, 6″ ovals to make the feathers. You can cut the feathers one at a time if it is easier for your child, and even draw the shape with pencil to help guide them. We prefer to cut them all at the time for not only speed, but to make the feathers uniform in size.

Fan the feathers out and hold behind the back, stapled part of the brown ring. Insert stapler into ring and carefully staple feathers onto turkey ring. Right now it looks like a very small Indian head dressing.

Depending on what google eyes you have on hand, you can either peel off the back and stick them onto the side opposite of the feathers OR use glue to attach an orange triangle beak, red heart-shaped wattle, and two google eyes.

HINT: It goes quicker using a glue gun, but use your best judgement if your kids are able to use a cool touch glue gun or if an adult might be able to help with this step.
